One of Asheville's most (in)famous landmarks is coming down tomorrow morning @ 9:00. That's right - the Interstate Motel sign, standing for a full four years after the joint was razed to make room for condos, is going the way the Innsbruck Theater, the Dreamland Drive-In, and Beaucatcher Mountain.

Bliss & I will be there, raising a glass (a cup of coffee, more accurately) and bidding farewell to a genuinely sleazy, somewhat embarrassing yet memorable and important piece of Asheville history.
