Charter Sucks Even Worse - Bloggers Unite

O.K. Time we got down to business.

Hangover Journals: "Charter turned off my internet AGAIN!"

Yes. They did it again. I think this is the fifth time? The entire sordid history of Charter's ineffable incompetence is here.

We need all you Asheville bloggers to let Charter know how you feel about the way they're treating our sistah bloggah. Do it today, do it tomorrow. Post about them at your sites. Email them vigorously. Burn their phones up. Jam their faxes. Let them know that if they don't fix Fliss' internet once and for all, then hundreds of local Hangover Journals lovers will be publicly hating on them for years to come.

UPDATE: Jennifer Saylor in the comments notes:

1. From the Asheville Better Business Bureau page:

Thanks, Jennifer!

I encourage anyone with Charter complaints to notify the commissioners responsible for giving Charter their contract in WNC.

I've never had poorer service than I have from Charter Communications and I've never heard more complaints about a cable company.

I'm not discouraging contacting Charter -- please do! But the people who have the power to yank Charter's contract when it comes time to renew can be found here:

Anyone care to suggest other, better area providers for broadband internet?

MAIN is good if you're in one of their areas.

Aside from that, I don't know.

Y'all rock. Or my boss' friend who works at Charter rocks. Whoever got a nice lady named Bertha from Charter to call me here at work today rocks, anyhow. OF COURSE, we have heard this BEFORE. So, we shall see - and she's supposed to fax me a statement from Charter enumerating that I do not, in fact, owe them any money, that I'm a customer in good standing and that they're giving me the introductory rate for an extra 3 months. So, let us see.

In the meantime, I appreciate all the support and the help!! And it will not pain me should you include Charter in your bedtime curses!

Good luck, Felicity. I hope you end up feeling like you were compensated for what Charter did to you.

Here's a link to MAIN's wireless broadband offering, which really does seem to be the only other game in town. I'm thinking of switching:

I'll be curious to hear if they do in fact fax you the statement. I've been promised faxes, phone calls etc etc and they have never once been produced, at least by the folks at the 888 number.

I have had interactions with Rozland Edgerton, though, and unlike others she actually got things accomplished. She even followed up with a phone call to make sure they'd been accomplished -- I almost fainted when I got that kind of service from a Charter employee! If you don't get the promised results from Bertha I'd call Rozland....or buy a voodoo doll and name it Neil. ;-)

I'd still send your complaint to the head honchos at Charter with copies to the commissioners. If we don't complain to the people who have power to make change then nothing will change. One should not have to go through this kind of crap with any company much less one that charges what Charter does for its services.
