The Citizen-Times reports "News that one of this community’s largest employers is closing wasn’t even a day old and The Breakfast Shoppe owner Nancy Allen could already tell a difference Thursday at her small restaurant on U.S. 70.
Several regulars who work at Anvil Knitwear, a nearby textile mill where more than 350 employees found out Wednesday that their jobs are being shipped to Honduras, didn’t stop in for breakfast.
“They’re probably trying to put back what (money) they can before they end up with nothing,” she said.

Folks, if someone doesn't get up enough nerve to protect the American workers from the greed of the Globalization and Free trade hogwash that our Economists and CEOs have embraced, we are going to see an economic depression in this country of epic proportions.
$5 an hour jobs are not going to replace these lost jobs. How many jobs has WNC lost under the watch of Charles "Richer Than You" Taylor?
Answer: Too many!
Perhaps the richest among us would do well to remember history, this "let them eat cake" atttitude may come back to haunt all of us.
