Asheville at Night

You can read up on this week's "Smart Bets" for Asheville activities at the Mountain Xpress, one of our great local newsmags.

"Speaking of sweltering ... Latin jazz-meets-Eurodub foursome the Brazilian Girls stops off at the Orange Peel Tuesday, June 14, as part of their first national tour. The band, fresh off the release of their self-titled debut CD, is neither Brazilian nor entirely female, though Italian-born vocalist Sabina Sciubba sings in no less than five languages. Wielding a dozen provocative new tracks and a history of playing in some of NYC's best dance clubs, the Brazilian Girls promise a night of aural and visual stimulation.

9 p.m. $13. 225-5851."

Though my own nocturnal habits have been curbed of late; one of the great things about our fair city, or should I say town, is the wonderfully alive downtown and its extensive offerings. Enjoy!
