The Citizen-Times reports "the remnants of Tropical Storm Arlene pushed streams out of their banks and flooded roads in Transylvania County, and parts of Western North Carolina remained under a flood warning this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The Weather Service forecasted minor flooding along the Tuckasegee River at Bryson City, with the river reaching flood stage around 2 p.m. The agency urged caution when walking near the river and said children should be kept away from drainage areas and culverts.

The French Broad River in Transylvania County is expected to crest about a foot above flood stage at 8 p.m. More than four inches of rain fell in parts of the mountains on Sunday. A flood warning was in effect this morning for Henderson, Transylvania, Swain and Graham counties."
