New TED video debuts in India with TEDxAVL footage

In Mysore at TEDIndia yesterday, Lara Stein of the TED conference debuted a new video from TED explaining the independently organized TEDx program. TED contacted us at TEDxAsheville for material last month, and the new TED video includes images, animation and footage from last summer's TEDxAsheville event at the Orange Peel.

So in TED's latest video just revealed to India and the world, check out Asheville's own:

From TED:

This video highlights the progress TEDx has made over the past 8 months and was shown at TEDIndia in Mysore, India on November 4, 2009.

What is TEDx? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like exper
ience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized
events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I love it. Another reminder that Asheville is a great place to live (and create).

Thanks for posting.
