Asheville's own SPATS (SteamPunk Arts & Technical Society) is hosting a steampunk convention on September 26th. (If you don't know what steampunk is, an explanation may be found here.)So big it takes place in two locations, the daylight portion of SPATSFest takes place at Firestorm Cafe. It will feature contests, stories, discussions, sing-a-longs, and all sorts of family-friendly fun. The nighttime portion of SPATSFest will be happening at the Hookah Bar, and will feature a steampunk concert, steampunk fashions show, and a steampunk burlesque show.
