City council elections start soon. Have you thought about your vote?
Mountain Voices Alliance (MVA) and Asheville PARC co-host an Asheville City Council candidate’s forum today from 7-9 p.m. at the Randolph Learning Center, 90 Montford Ave. in Asheville.
Doors open at 6:30.
Those who have responded and will appear include Cecil Bothwell, Gordon Smith, Carl Mumpower, Kelly Miller, Esther Manheimer, J.Neil Jackson and Cesar Romero.
I’ve heard people say, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t know anything about the candidates or the issues. You still need to get out to the polls.” I disagree. If you don’t know why you’re choosing a specific person or position, all you’re doing is showing up and making a random mark. That’s not voting.
