Fireworks in West Asheville?
Does anyone know where those fireworks were coming from in West Asheville around 10 pm last night? These were much more serious than the average backyard fireworks show and I'm curious.

I heard them, too, neighbor. Stepped outside to see WTH was going on just as they stopped.
It was probably some people celebrating the Jewish New Year in a non-tradtional manner.
If you heard it, Fliss, at your house, and I heard 'em loud at my house two miles away, then they must've been ginormous.
I live just north of Patton off Johnston Boulevard, and saw them through the trees to the west. I have no idea what the celebration was.
I live in North Asheville near Beaver Lake and heard them loud and clear from my house.
I live in Candler and am hearing them again tonight. My guess is they are coming from the Biltmore Estate. That is the direction I hear them from.
oh sure guys, always blame us jews.

A search on the Citizen Times site led me to an approval of the Buncombe County Commissioners approving a fireworks display at Asheville School on Oct 9th, which jives with what I saw from my house (why, I don't know). They also approved fireworks for the Biltmore Estate on Saturday.
Yeah, for us in the southeast west asheville, the two fireworks came in opposite directions.
