I was nannying for a 6 year old boy and his friend on Friday in Norwood Park, when the boy ran into the house yelling at me to "COME QUICK there's a thousand gazillion bajillion katrillion cicadas!!" We ran out to their hedges and, sure enough, there were thousands... on the hedges, in the grass, on the sidewalk, on the plants nearby. Then we found this cool map online of emergences - http://inside.msj.edu/academics/faculty/kritskg/cicada/Site/Report_a_cicada.html - and listed our own!
