After 41 years of guessing the weather, delivering outdoor reports, portraying TV clowns and otherwise looking befuddled and confused during WLOS' entertainment and pop culture news segments, Bob Caldwell, currently the longest-serving fixture on local television (including Greenville/Spartanburg), has announced that he will retire at the end July.

In the meantime, don't fret - he's still ours for almost three months, and he'll still be showing off the best of what WNC has to offer to nature lovers on a regular basis.

I can't believe that Mr. Caldwell has betrayed the people of Asheville and the WLOS viewing area. He is using his "trustworthy persona" to lead people into the jaws of doom at Auto Advantage. Shame on you Bob.
