AC-T: "Alternative rock legends The Smashing Pumpkins are coming to Asheville next month for a historic nine show stand at The Orange Peel. The shows will take place June 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30 and July 2, 3, and 5.
General admission tickets are $20 each will go on sale at 1 p.m. May 20 at www.theorangepeel.net or www.ticketweb.com.
After the Asheville run, the band will head to the Fillmore in San Francisco for eight shows from July 22-Aug 1."

I'm not really a big Smashing Pumpkins fan (although I liked their first album a lot, but this part of the story caught my attention:
"Fans will be invited to capture the Orange Peel shows with audio and video recorders."
Gotta respect that. Especially because there are going to be diehards from all over the eastern seaboard converging onto Asheville for these shows, and tickets will be scarce even for locals. At least there'll be a chance for everyone to hear or see the shows.
I like the Pumpkins. I'm amazed by this and plan on going at least once. How did the OP manage this? It was on the national news sites today. It's awesome PR for Asheville, and will be great for tourism.
