A Small Tasteful Affair

On Saturday, September 23, Frank Parker & Jim Jenkins will be hosting the blogger elite of Asheville at our summer home in the mountains of Weaverville for an afternoon and evening and who knows perhaps even late night of food, drink and casual conversation.

Last year we gave in to our baser instincts and hosted a loud, raucous BBQ and Freedom March replete with grilled dead animals, cheap beer and rock & roll music.

Not this year, bub! Get those ball gowns cleaned and spruce up that tux. Extend those pinkies and look down that nose. This is gonna be some high class shit right here.

More details as we get closer to the event, but mark your calendars and e-mail me for directions.

Oooh oooh! Do we get to dress up? I want to dress up! I want to wear an evening gown and long white kid gloves!

Anyone willing to give me a ride from Brewgrass to Jim and Frank's?

What can we bring, Jim?

I actually own kid gloves, Fliss. You're welcome to borrow them. I'm going to Atlanta next weekend--maybe I'll pull out one of my old debutante gowns.

Brewgrass then the New'n'Improved BBQ'n'Freedom March. That's some ambitious stuff.

Edgy,

I'll either give you a ride or join you in trying to find one.

Oh lord, EM, I have some long white kid gloves too. Not, alas, any deb gowns - they all went the way of the dressup box long ago, which is good, because now I don't have to ever try them on and face the hideous truth of my long vanished waistline!

Alright. Screwy, I have to figure out babysitting first!

I was actually fighting the dreaded freshman fifteen when I made my debut, Fliss, so I'm hoping the gowns still fit. We'll see...
