BlogAsheville Dead of Winter Bowl-a-thon?

Since there were no votes for Ash's "Nipply Blogger Beat-the-Blues Scatological Scamper and 3rd Congressional Congress," I'm guessing that we're going bowling. If BlogAsheville hosts a bowl-a-thon, would you come? Is the last Friday of the month, Friday the 24th to be precise, good for y'all? What time is best? Do we need reservations? What bowling alley serves up the best brews? Most importantly, we would need a name for the event that rivals the aforementioned non-event. Thoughts?

Oh, that cartoon is great! I'll have to see if I can get my sparkly ball gown cleaned in time for the 24th.

bliss, what are you doing awake? :)

i suggest the one on patton ave. i'm not sure about their selection of beer, but i know that they have bud in longnecks and quite possibly pbr for those of us who are into that sort of things... plus, they have the scoring machines that have the really hilarious computer animations. :)

the way i see it, we can maybe reserve a couple of lanes for a "bowling party!" or even possibly to that nookyoolar glow-in-the-dark "ROCK & BOWL!" thing... we might want to jump on that.

the 24th is perfect for us (that would be bliss & i), and any time in the evening is good.

Is this the place, Syntax?

One of the great landmarks of West Asheville is the Sky Lanes bowling center, built in 1963 . . .

The highlight of the week is Cosmic Bowling on Friday and Saturday nights, when black lights, lighted stars and moons and pulsating music form the backdrop for party bowling into the wee hours.

"You can't even get a lane on Saturday night,'' said 18- year-old David Caison.

Linda Edwards, manager of the lanes for eight years, said Cosmic Bowling, which started in 1998, draws people of all ages.

Yes to Skylanes. I don't have my calendar in front of me, but I think the 24th works. I'll wear my tiara.

Thanks for stepping up and organizing us, Jim.

If we're gettin' all fancied up count me in. Uptown and I may even be able to score a sitter until midnight. We turn into pumpkins soon after anyway...

Aw, nuts. I've got an event to attend that night. Beer, bowling and tiara-wearing EM sounds like a hoot. Maybe next time.
