BlogAsheville Street

The picture below was taken from a page in the book that my little Bee had chosen for a bedtime story last night. I found the resemblance of Oscar the grouch to one of our resident commenters too facetious not to share...

Nice, MF. Yes, there are a few, ummmm, one-track minds out there.

satire is good for the soul

speaking of the soul, "The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls."
Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815 - 1902).

Beautiful quote, modpez. Could you enlighten me further on it's use here? I'm perplexed as to it's relation to the post. Though, maybe it has nothing to do with post? Help!

that is a wonderful quote and quite apropos for the post, sorry you didn't appreciate it mountain faerie!
I liked it even more as my late wife was a descendant of Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

its not that its not a beautiful quote, which mtn faerie acknowledges, i think its just that, considering car's rather biting and satirical writings, the cartoon was a poke in that direction - a tit for tat, if you would. i like both of them, for different reasons.
