Up Hill Both Ways

Not that I have to tell you just how drastically the rising fuel prices are going to continue to affect our lives, but I'm gonna.

Folks, it's time to start talking to your friends and neighbors about car-pooling. It's time to start maximizing fuel efficency, walking or biking to work, and getting rid of those gas-guzzlers.

Sooner or later, you won't be able to give your SUV away. There won't be RV parks, there will be SUV parks, where people hook their Expeditions up and live in them. Heck, for the 400-700 dollars a month in payments, it'd be better than some rental markets, considering that in some cities you'd pay more for an apartment that is almost the same size.

Rising oil prices, coupled with the continued devaluation of the US dollar, bode ill for the next few years, if not decades. Oh I know, I know, all this piss and vinegar, will get us nowhere.

"Be careful where you're headed, you might get there."

UPDATE:

Science Daily reports "An oil expert and author who correctly forecast $3 per gallon gasoline in the United States this year says the price will reach $5 next year."

Books about Hubbert's Peak

It's coming sooner than you think. The gas companies keep telling people the shortage is because there aren't enough refineries, but Hubbert correctly predicted US peak production back in the 70's, when everyone laughed then too.
