Pop The Cap Wins! NC Beers Now Allowed 15% Alcohol!

Legislative info on the bill here.

Within a few days (12:01 AM this Sunday Night / Monday Morning), assuming the Governor doesn't veto it (which he's expected not to, and he hasn't said a word about it), the new legal limit for beer in North Carolina will be 15% !!! We did it! We won!

Pop The Cap Info!

Sean, over at Pop The Cap, has created a countdown timer to watch until NC's alcohol limit in beer jumps!

Technically, they shouldn't be available until sunday night (monday morning) at 12:01 AM, but here's what I got from Barley's Taproom in Asheville:

From the BarleysTaproom.com contact form...

The availability is up to the distributors. We have it on good info that a couple of the locals have high gravities in the tank so it should be this weekend.

I have read somewhere that both French Broad Brewing and Highland are ready with 8% Scottish Ales to sell as soon as they are permitted. When I asked Doug if this was true, his response was "seeing is believing." So, I guess we'll have to see.
