Looking for leadership

It will be interesting to watch as candidates continue to come out of the woodwork for Ashvegas City Council, although Freeborn and Cape will be just two of probably a dozen or more who will sign up to run.

Dwight Butner, a downtown restaurant group leader and restaurant owner is running for council, too. Assuming Holly, Dunn and Bellamy run for their council seats, all you need is one more candidate to force a primary election to whittle the field to six who would face off in November. Who knows who will make the cut.

For mayor, Worley definitely wants to win re-election. If Bellamy runs, that would be interesting. There's been a lot of talk about whether Mumpower will run. And the big winner in the water negotiations has been Brownie, who has come out with a strong voice and looking like a solid negotiator. Maybe he'll run.

Former Mayor Leni Sitnick has also been rumored to be thinking of another run. If she does, we'd have one helluva mayoral race on our hands.

Bring the Sitnick!

I'd love for Brownie to run, but I'd hate to lose his council seat.

Where are all the progressive candidates???
